Paris is known around the world as the City of Love so I wanted to profile the city from a Soul Music enthusiast perspective. I’ll spotlight a few clubs/lounges in Paris where you can see your favorite Soul artists performing in the City of Lights.
La Bellevilloise Ménilmontant
Founded in 1877 , La Bellevilloise is the first Parisian cooperative built to offer to the middle class an access to political education and culture. Today it’s one place in Paris where you’ll most likely find various Soul & Hip Hop (both American and Foreign) artists performing.

The Bizz’Art is known in Paris as THE place to see their favorite Soul Music artists when they are in town. Have a drink, dinner and kick back in a relaxed atmosphere that reminds you of a NYC loft.

A legendary concert hall in Paris, opened in 1864 it’s now the premier place for the biggest names in music to perform there.
Artists such as Jill Scott and Kelis have performed at Le Bataclan in the past and Talib Kweli and Mos Def (Yasiin Bey), Raphael Saadiq and Anthony Hamilton have shows coming up in March & April, 2012.
