Immersed in the reggae and hip – hop culture, Miss Taelor joined Roots Collective and began playing shows all throughout the Arts colony downtown Pomona scene. numerous dive bars and several private parties later Mickey and the band played the first ever Pomona Reggae Festival at the historical Glass House concert hall. after exposure to such a large crowd Mickey Taelor knew this was the role for her..

Get your first look at TV One’s highly anticipated new reality series ‘R&B Divas’. Highlighting the day ins-and-outs of 5 noted female R&B vocalists – Faith Evans, Keke Wyatt, Syleena Johnson, Nicci Gilbert, and Monifah Carter – the show is set to land on screens August 20th.

Once also including ‘Oops Oh My’ maestra Tweet, the aforementioned five are set to shed light on their time away from the limelight as well as show the behind the scenes action of their family lives, recording sessions, and more.. With LPs also reported to be in the works for each artist, here’s hoping that the show acts as a well deserved springboard to put these ladies back on charts where they belong:

The ups and downs of Andre 3000′s involvement in the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic are well documented. But the photographic evidence above suggests that the Hendrix estate’s reservations about casting Andre Benjamin aren’t stopping All Is By My Side from being realized. The project will focus on Hendrix’s formative period in England from 1966 to 1967, when, with the help of Eric Burdon, he transformed from a little-known sideman of Chitlin Circuit like Ike Turner and the Isley Brothers, into the standard-bearer of electric blues.

Hidden Beach kicks off the summer with the launch of a new remix compilation series entitled CRATES: REMIX FUNDAMENTALS. The first volumes will be eclectic collections of Jill Scott hits remixed and re-grooved by some of the music industry’s best DJs and Producer/Remixers. CRATES: REMIX FUNDAMENTALS VOLUME 1 (Spring Summer Feeling), the first of three remix volumes for Jill Scott from her former label home, captures the spirit of summer with upbeat tempos and catchy dance beats capturing that perfect Summer feeling. CRATES: REMIX FUNDAMENTALS VOLUME 1 is available June 26, 2012.

Jill Scott’s original vocals were paired with some of music’s most influential DJs and Producer/Remixers including Ron Trent, Ca$e Boogie, and Mr. Mig transforming her soulful vocals to be enjoyed by new audiences worldwide. I feel like we were all elated to learn that Esperanza Spaulding was performing on The David Letterman, and that the Robert Glasper Experiment was also on the same night at the same time on Jay Leno, so for those that chose to watch Robert here is her live performance!
