Congratulations To The Winners!

Congratulations To The Winners!

Annually, the music world joins together to salute excellence in their industry.  Not taking away anything from anyone but we here at the Neo Soul Cafe would like to take time to celebrate and congratulate the artists we support who were recognized by  the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States .

First off congratulations to Mr #WhoGonePopMe King Kendrick Lamar who unapologetically massacred the Grammys with his performance… but wait there’s more out of the 11 nods Mr Lamar walks away with 5 Grammys. Mr Lamar popped his collar tipped his hat to the Black Lives Matter movement and unleashed a fury of powerful verses…

“Kendrick’s extra Black, extra poignant, and powerful performance is rooted in just as much calculation, capitalism and mainstream sanction as

Nothing that he, she, or ANY of us has to say against our oppression, exists outside of the Capitalist experiment we live in (especially when we say it within art that we hope to sell).
Still, that art we sell (and give away for free half the damned time) can have a message that challenges the status quo, introduces the masses to new ways of thinking, and encourages Black Pride.”
