Rogiérs and The Fibby Music Group, LLC invite you to join in celebrating his birthday for this special March 9th/10th performance in New York. Featuring special invited musical guests and the official kick-off of his fundraiser campaign for the upcoming album, theshedding!
Many, many things could be said about Rogiérs (pronounced “Ro-ghe-ay”). Some may recall his 2005 single with the Platinum Pied Pipers & Mark de Clive-Lowe on the underground hit “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.” Others know him for his 2008 debut album single “Hollywood Story,” the hot collaboration with Robert Glasper and Bilal. Yet others recognize Rogiérs as the voice of jazz-fusion group Soul Cycle, and a few fans still refer to him as Alicia Keys’s former keyboardist and background singer. Whatever comes to mind, since 2002 Rogiérs has established himself as a premier voice within the echelon of independent R&B, soul, jazz, and deep house music artists. He has independently released two albums, two EPs, and various singles and compilations, receiving airplay in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Russia, Australia, Japan, and more. His next album, titled theshedding, drops later this year.
The Legendary Don Cornelius and creator of “Soul Train” was found dead this morning.
Law enforcement sources said police arrived at Cornelius’ home around 4 a.m. He apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the case was ongoing.
The sources said there was no sign of foul play, but the Los Angeles Police Department was investigating.
“Soul Train” was the longest-running first-run nationally syndicated show in television history, bringing African American music and style to the world for 35 years.
“Soul Train” helped to launch The Soul Train Music Awards. It’s success led to other popular Soul Train spin-off specials like The Soul Train Lady Of Soul Annual Awards Special and The Soul Train Christmas Starfest. Don made his mark on Black History
Our condolences to the family of the late great Don Cornelius
