Action for the Arts Instruments, Arts Resources, and Grants Program is accepting applications for the year 2013-2014.
Action for the Arts invites eligible youth music and arts programs to apply for musical instruments, arts resources and cash grants of up to $2,500. Preference will be given to applicants that provide programming to under-served youth populations.
Applications for the 2013/2014 program year (September 1, 2013, through June 30, 2014) are now being accepted and must be received via email no later than 11:59 p.m. June 15, 2013.

The program is open to 1) public schools and 2) non-profit organizations with current IRS 501(c)(3) status. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
1) Serve 5th through 12th grade students
2) Demonstrate a minimum of three years history for the program for which support is requested
3) Based in one of the following locations:
Atlantic County, New Jersey
Clark, Lincoln, and Nye counties in Nevada
Los Angeles, California
Orange County, California
Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Orleans Parish, Louisiana
San Diego, California

Oh say can you see…..Avery*Sunshine announced today that she will be singing The National Anthem at this year’s NCAA Final Four Championship Game. Avery will be accompanied by a 200 plus voice choir that will be directed by Dr. Tony McNeill, the Director of Worship & Arts at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Here’s the official word courtesy of NCAA.com The national anthem for the semi-final rounds on Saturday, April 6, will be performed by the Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir & Friends, featuring Avery*Sunshine and conducted by Dr. Tony McNeill, director of Worship and Arts. This group consists of an aggregation of singers from Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church as well as singers from other local Atlanta congregations, schools or the surrounding community. The group, made up of singers of all faiths, ages and racial backgrounds (reflective of the mantra and motivation of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s call to civil rights).The Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir was first directed by Mrs. Alberta Christine Williams King, mother of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and has performed all over the world and at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C. Tip off for the Final Four semifinals will be 6:09 p.m. and 8:49 p.m.
The NCAA crowd will get to experience what we already know. The voice of Avery is awesome and her performance will be brilliantly spectacular. She’s been touring incessantly from city to city and has opened for The likes of artists like Kem, Rahsaan Patterson, Ledisi, Rachelle Ferrell, Eric Roberson and many more… Avery is working on new music, touring and will also be performing at this year’s Essence Festival in New Orleans Louisiana. If you have not seen her… please see her when she comes to your city and then you’ll know why “Everybody Loves the Sunshine!”
