imagesCulture Creative Music announced the digital release of “Pushin’” by emerging independent artist Katt Rockell as a free download. The mid-tempo track is an attention-grabbing teaser to Rockell’s forthcoming debut EP, entitled Living Free, and is available now for a limited time. The soul-stirring vocalist wrote and arranged all six songs on her solo project which features production by the super-duo BudaDaFuture and Grandz.

“Pushin’” is definitely my life’s theme song. It’s about choosing the road less traveled, putting in the work and pressing forward when faced with obstacles. Its message is to not allow anything or anyone to dictate your destiny, states Rockell.

A versatile songwriter, Rockell signed a publishing deal with BMG Music Publishing in 2010 and has since collaborated with several award-winning music producers including Wyclef Jean (The Fugees, Shakira), Rodney Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Toni Braxton, Jennifer Lopez) and Kwame (Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, to name a few. She has co-written for a variety of national and international artists such as Lauriana Mae, Marlon Roudette (Germany), Joey Yung (China) and her songwriting accolades include a plaque for a number 1 Top 100 single. Rockell also penned two songs on a new wave/dance project produced by Germany’s DJ Westbam and was featured vocalist among the likes of Iggy Pop and Kanye West.

BudaDaFuture adds, “The odds against coming across a unique artist like Katt are unbelievable. Her voice is an incredible instrument so when Grandz and I combined her songwriting and vocals with our gritty beats – we knew instantly that we were creating magic.”
